The beautiful earrings and pendants have been hand made in Victoria and feature the stunning Aboriginal artwork of Nathania Nangala Granites from the Warlukurlangu Art Centre in Central Australia. The centre is a non-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal owned by its artists from the remote communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi, Central Australia

Artist: Nathania Nangala Granites
Artwork: 'Warlukurlangu Jukurrpa' (Fire Country Dreaming)
Region: Yuendumu, Central Australia
Country of Manufacture: Made in Australia
Packaging: Delivered in a small kraft box with information about the artist and artwork
Social Impact: Royalties from the sale of the jewellery directly benefit the Aboriginal artist Margaret Nangala Gallagher in her community

Nathania was born into a family of artists, and grew up listening to her mother’s and her father’s Jukurrpa stories. She has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists since 2011 and paints her father’s Jukurrpa, particularly Ngapa Jukurrpa (Water Dreaming) and Warlukurlangu Jukurrpa (Fire Country Dreaming). She also paints her grandmother’s Yanjirlpirri Napaljarri-Warnu Jukurrpa (Star or Seven Sisters Dreaming). These stories have been passed down over generations for millennia and relate directly to the land, its features and the plants and animals that inhabit it. Nathania uses an unrestricted palette to depict a modern interpretation of her traditional culture.

To care for the jewellery keep it in the protective packaging and wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid spraying with perfume or other sprays and keep out of direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Royalties from this product directly benefit the Aboriginal artist Nathania Nangala Granites in her community.
