Philodendron Prince of Orange 200mm
or make 4 interest-free payments of $12.25 AUD fortnightly with More info
Philodendron Prince of Orange is a hybrid with striking red-orange foliage which turns a deep green at maturity. Unlike other philodendrons that are climbers, this one grows from the centre of the base and is self supporting. Suited to free draining, moist soils in filtered light. Tolerant of poor lighting conditions.
PRO TIP: The Prince of Orange can grow large and broad over time. In the right lighting conditions in can double in size in a year.
PRO TIP: Rotate your plant every few weeks so that it grows proportionately. Prince of Orange love to lean towards the light, so rotating will help it stay full on all sides.
Philodendrons prefer soil that is consistently slightly moist, especially if you want them to grow big leaves. As epiphytes with aerial roots, they are sensitive to over-watering, so they don’t want to sit in soggy soil. Typically, you shouldn’t have to water your Prince of Orange more than once a week. When the top 1-2 inches of the soil are dry, your plant could use a drink. Rest easy knowing this plant is hardy and easy to care for!
If you have heating units or air-conditioners, it is best to avoid placing plants underneath or next to them. This is because of the air blowing out from these units can be extremely hot or cold which can leave a healthy plant burnt, damaged and stressed. We recommend the Australian made Munash Organics soil food & foliage spray or The Plant Runner Plant Food or neem oil to keep you plants happy and healthy!
