The Tori Dress is hand printed and hand stitched from hand loomed unbleached cotton supporting women's projects locally and abroad. We know this simple knee length dress will be a winner with caped sleeve, single button back and gorgeous colour palette I can imagine this being a great work or weekend staple.
The stitching project
The stitching project is a social enterprise run by fellow Aussie, Fiona Wright. Through the education of local Rajasthani women, together they create beautiful handmade textiles. Offering equal pay, many of these rural women are earning a wage for the first time in their lives, providing them new pathways towards friendships and financial independence. The garments are unique using hand loomed, unbleached, natural fibers with many being hand printed and stitched with a contemporary twist.
About Ella & Sunday
We search for natural fibres including cotton, linen, silk & blends of cotton/linen & cotton/silk. We also source hand loomed fabrics like raw cotton & cotton/silk. These fabrics are hand printed & hand stitched using traditional techniques.
Our limited collections are made under our watchful eye in ethically managed fashion houses in India. We personally visit our tailors and work alongside the teams who make our garments. They are relatively small businesses where the owner/operators are hands-on and we get to know many of the staff. The integrity of our business is important to us, as it is to you.
We release two new collections a year and prefer not to follow the established seasonal timelines of summer & winter. Our garments can be worn year-round, layered & re-imagined, built upon season after season.
