Coastal Fern
Painted by local artist Sarah Pienig in water colours the humble coastal coastal fern is a perennial species that belongs to the Aspleniaceae family. This fern is often spotted in coastal regions, where it typically grows in rocky crevices or sandy soils. It’s especially remarkable for its ability to thrive in challenging conditions, including exposure to salt and varying moisture levels. Coastal ferns contribute to the biodiversity of their ecosystems and provide habitat for various fauna.
