Our Tessellated Pavement design is by Sarah Pienig, Bosa Art Co for The Spotted Quoll Studios AW2022 Hessian Pony Collection
Tessellated Pavement is found in only a few places on earth, Tasmania is home to one of the best examples impressive geological wonders. Looking at this rock formation it’s hard to believe it was created by nature and the elements are not man made.
The tiled rocks are a stunning sight formed mostly of siltstone that formed about 300 million years ago. Essentially, the rocks were fractured by the movement of the Earth and resulted in what is called jointing. Jointing itself is not incredibly uncommon, but the presence of salt crystals and consistent erosion by the Tasman Sea’s waves and sediment deepened the pattern to give it its startling appearance.
The pavement is near the small town of Eaglehawk Neck, which is considered the hub for many attractions of the Tasman Peninsula, such as the Port Arthur Historic Site. It is a 1 hr. drive south of Hobart and a popular region for tourists to visit.
Our Table runners will run wild right up the middle of your beautifully set table adding texture and oozing nostalgia to any dinner party, there is nothing like a well dressed table. Designed to be mixed and matched with our TAS Oak Placemat or Coasters sets or matching Napkins for the ultimate eclectic table ware, so much fun!
